BI-MATERIAL INJECTION AND TRI-INJECTION
Bi-injection or tri-injection is a process which is used to inject two or three different materials either simultaneously or sequentially from a single press and a single mould. Different technologies are available for this type of injection, such as:
- the rotary mould
- robot transfer into the mould
- the translation mould
- the gate-system mould
Ixemer is an expert in multi-material injection technologies and provides its know-how for your technical decisions.
Simultaneous injection, using a rotary mould or with the robot transfer of items, provides considerable cycle time savings.
Successive injection, using a translation or gate mould, provides mould cost savings.
The benefit lies in the combination of materials with specific technical and/or aesthetic properties in the same item.
